Tall Ships Race
The Tall Ships Races are an annual event organised by Sail Training International for sail training boats from across the globe. Around 80 sailing vessels of all sizes and varieties enter each year; each crewed by a young crew aged 15-25. The TSR offer a unique opportunity to experience a long sea passage, travel abroad and meet thousands of like-minded young people on other vessels from around the world.
The trips can be used as the Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award Residential Project and it is possible to work towards the RYA Competent Crew qualification during the voyage. The Tall Ships Races make for an excellent international experience and are a great opportunity for young people to develop their independence and gain valuable team work, communication and problem solving skills. No prior sailing experience is necessary.
