Hi everyone, I'm Adam, the person responsible for putting this website together, so please be nice. I'm from Duffield, in Belper District, and I'm actually now a former member of Scout Network due to being too old. As well as running the website for Derbyshire Network I'm currently helping out with Genus Network (the Network I used to be a member of)
Scouting experience and interests
I've been in Scouting ever since I was 6 years old when I joined 1st Duffield Scout Group, starting in Beavers and then working through the other sections, which for me included the old Venture Scout section before moving on to Scout Network (I never got to experience Explorers). My favorite Scouting activities include climbing, canoeing, archery, air-rifle shooting, and of course good old camping.
As I have mentioned I have now finished as a Scout Network member. During my time in Network I successfully completed the Queen's Scout Award. A lot of hard work went into gaining the award, this included undertaking a 4-day expedition hike in the Lake District and a 1-week working holiday with the National Trust.
Best moment in Scouting - Quite obvious this one, it was both gaining and being presented with my Queen's Scout Award, something that I will cherish for a very long time.
Outside Scouting
Outside Scouting my interests include computing, sport, and advanced driving. I recently passed the RoSPA Advanced Driving Test at Gold level and now help out at a local RoSPA group where I get to teach advanced driving. I'm a huge sports fan, this includes sporting Derby County (COME ON YOU RAMS!!!!!) but also includes playing sports, with football and hockey being my favorites.
I'm currently working as a website developer for the Dolls House Emporium in Ripley as well as doing website work for a Derby website development company (yes, I currently do 2 jobs).
Other bits
Likes - doing well at things (I can be very competitive), website design, scouting, sport, hanging out with my good friends
Hates - losing (I did say I was competitive), being bored
Favorite music - into various types of music. Not keen on R'n'B or rap though.
Favorite TV shows - Top Gear, Mock The Week, The Apprentice, Dragons' Den, Harry Hill's TV Burp
Favorite Comedians - Jack Dee, Jasper Carrot, Jimmy Carr, Russell Howard, Frankie Boyle, Michael McIntyre.
