Alton Towers Camp 2010 is approaching fast! Bookings are now being taken but close on Friday 24th September 2010. This is due to the need to purchase theme park tickets in advance, so book early to guarantee your place at one of the best Scout Network events around. Have you booked yet? Once you've booked, you can start planning your costume for one of the event highlights - the open theme fancy dress competition. This year we will have better prizes and more trophies for those of you that come up with the most original ideas. For those of you entering from Derbyshire, after the unexpected and controversial Phoenix Network victory over long-running champions Quest Network last year, this year's competition is expected to be even hotter... so, book your tickets and start putting together your fancy dress outfits.
We also plan to introduce other games and competitions to keep you entertained throughout the evening. Plans are progressing and some of the exciting new features we hope to bring to the camp this year are listed below. The 'About ATC' page will give you a general idea of what to expect at the event, but below are some of the new features we are introducing for 2010.
What isn't changing:
- The Date - 15th-17th October 2010
- The Location - Drum Hill Scout Campsite in Derbyshire
- The Format - A fun social weekend for age 18+ members of Scouting and Guiding (and 17½+ Network members, subject to additional requirements)
- The Bargain Price - the whole weekend will cost less than the normal price for Alton Towers tickets alone
- Two nights of entertainment 'til the early hours from our resident DJ Spud
- Spectacular open-theme fancy dress competition on Saturday night
- Well stocked, low cost and late-opening bar
- Cooked breakfast both mornings
New / improved for 2010 (pencilled in so far):
- Choice of Alton Towers theme park or water park tickets
- Alton Towers' brand new mega rollercoaster: "13"
- Saturday late-night food stand available
- Bigger fancy dress competition with better prizes, with theme music for groups
- Additional competitions and games to keep you entertained throughout the evening
- Improved marquee layout - bringing the bar and party closer together and more enclosed to keep things warmer!
